Mija Kim explores how memory is accumulated and gradually fades through photography. By reconstructing and juxtaposing images, she connects past time with present experience, capturing the quiet solitude and emotional gaps of everyday life within restrained compositions. In her work, objects and space reveal how traces of memory linger, expanding photography beyond mere documentation into a place where time resides.
Her representative project, Chaekga Pung-gyeong, reinterprets the traditional Korean painting Chaekgado in a contemporary context. Focusing on bookshelves and the objects placed within them, the series reflects how personal identity and the atmosphere of our time appear through ordinary things. The project has gradually expanded to consider the environmental impact of everyday convenience, reflecting on how changes in daily life shape-and sometimes harm-our surroundings.
She held her first solo exhibition in 2022 and has since participated in numerous invited and group exhibitions in Korea and abroad.

대표 작업인 『책가풍경』은 전통 회화인 책가도를 현대적으로 재해석한 연작이다. 책장과 그 안에 놓인 사물들을 통해 일상의 물건 속에 드러나는 개인의 정체성과 시대의 분위기를 비춘다. 이 작업은 편리한 생활을 추구하는 일상의 변화가 환경에 미치는 영향을 돌아보며, 그로 인한 문제를 성찰하는 방향으로 확장되고 있다.
그는 2022년 첫 개인전을 개최하였으며, 이후 국내외 여러 초대전과 그룹 전에 참여하고 있다.
