Today, Like Yesterday
A day like yesterday is a day when nothing happens. It is a day when the calm of yesterday remains unbroken, when there is no need to prepare for or accomplish the unexpected. On a day when I long for the continuation of that stillness, the words ‘take care’ and ‘be safe’ weigh more heavily than before, and even the simplest farewell feels too difficult to speak. After such days pass, I will once again live a precious today that is like yesterday
어제 같은 오늘은 아무일도 일어나지 않은 날이다. 어제의 평온이 깨어지지 않은 날, 예기치 못한 무언가를 준비하거나 해 내지 않아도 되는 날이다. 그 고요함의 지속이 그리운 어느 날, 잘 지내라는 말, 조심하라는 말무게가 새삼 와닿고 그 쉬운 안녕이 차마 나오지 않는 날들이 지나고 나면 다시 돌아 올 어제 같은 소중한 오늘을 살 것이다.
